Our house blend has long been crafted as a signature coffee that represents Kurasu—steady, easy to enjoy, and designed to be a cup you can return to every day without fatigue.
At the same time, as the natural environment and social conditions continue to change, coffee—an agricultural product deeply affected by these shifts—also changes in flavor year by year. This led us to reflect on what “sustainability,” “stable relationships,” and “something that lasts” truly mean for us as we continue to work with coffee.
As a coffee roaster, we began to ask ourselves: what is it that Kurasu wants to express, and how can we best embody our values through what we offer?
Of course, every coffee we have introduced as a single origin has been carefully selected based on our standards and values—coffees we genuinely want you to experience.
From there, we wanted to take a step further. By rethinking what we offer as an “everyday coffee,” we saw the possibility of building lasting partnerships with producers who share our values, and of delivering their work year after year. Through this ongoing relationship, we believe we can create a more direct and meaningful connection between people and coffee.
With this in mind, we have decided to transition from our long-standing house blend to a single origin coffee offered year-round.
As a coffee that embodies this vision, we partnered with FAF Coffees in Brazil.
This coffee is our new standard—one we can confidently recommend as a “go-to” cup, whether you are trying Kurasu for the first time or have been enjoying our coffee for years.
FAF Medium: The Taste of Balance
FAF Medium is a medium roast crafted around softness and balance.
It offers a pleasant fruitiness reminiscent of orange and plum, paired with a gentle sweetness like nuts and caramel, all lifted by a clean and refreshing acidity.
To bring out the full character of the coffee itself, we took extra care not to overshadow its natural qualities with roasty flavors— focusing instead on achieving a delicate, harmonious balance.
From the first sip while it’s hot to the sweetness that unfolds as it cools, you’ll find subtle shifts in flavor that make every moment enjoyable.
This coffee also pairs beautifully with milk— a combination where both sides complement each other, creating a wonderfully smooth and expressive harmony.
FAF Dark: Depth and Comfort in Every Sip
FAF Dark is a dark roast crafted around depth and satisfaction.
It carries the bold, roasty character typical of a dark roast, anchored by a rich, chocolate-like intensity. Yet within that richness, you’ll still find the clean acidity and gentle sweetness that define high-quality specialty coffee.
Compared to the FAF Medium, this version has a clearer, more defined structure— a fuller, more substantial cup— while still being layered, and allowing the natural character of the coffee to shine through the characteristic bitterness of dark roast.
A cup that never feels heavy or tiring- we hope you’ll enjoy it as a part of your everyday rhythm.

About FAF and their producers
FAF (Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza) Coffees has been promoting organic and sustainability-focused agriculture since 2002, bringing together like-minded producers to grow a community centered on sustainable farming.
In 2006, they began a partnership with Sítio Joaninha, a highly sustainable 6-hectare farm that embodies the core principle of regenerative agriculture: leaving the land healthier than before.
Sustainable Practices at Sítio Joaninha.
Sítio Joaninha — “The Ladybug Farm”
This coffee is grown at Sítio Joaninha, a small, family-run farm in Brazil whose name translates to “Ladybug Farm.”
The farm is owned by Valdir Ferreira-san. When Valdir-san’s mother was a child, the farm was full of ladybugs fluttering among the coffee trees.
Ladybugs play an important role in protecting coffee plants from pests. But over the years, as pesticides and chemical fertilizers became more widely used, the ladybugs disappeared— not just the harmful insects, but the helpful ones too.
When Valdir-san inherited the farm from his grandparents, he made a decision: “I want to bring back the landscape my mother once knew.”
And so the family began their journey of restoration.
They removed weeds by hand, one by one. They revitalized the soil using natural compost, creating an environment where ladybugs could safely return. They also transformed the farm into a fully off-grid operation, using only solar power to minimize environmental impact.
Little by little, the ladybugs began to find their way back.
Moved by their return, Valdir-san renamed the farm “Sítio Joaninha” and embraced the ladybug as a symbol of their commitment to regenerative agriculture.
This coffee carries the spirit of that dedication— a family working hand in hand with nature,
restoring life to the land, and nurturing an environment they hope to pass on beautifully to the next generation.
